Roger Lloyd Dudley, 95, passed away on December 21.
Roger was born July 27, 1924 in Grafton, NH to Albert and Carrie Maude (Fay) Dudley. His family moved to Lebanon, NH when he was 6 months old. He was the youngest of 11 children.
Roger was a graduate of Atlantic Union College, Lancaster, MA, and Union Springs Academy, NY. He served in the Army Medical Corp during WWII, June 1942 to March 1946, as an operating room technician.
Roger married Terri Crawford-Whitehouse in Lebanon, on March 29, 1947 at the First Baptist Church in Lebanon.
Roger worked in the Engineering Department of Research and Development, at Splitball Bearing, later to become Timken, Co, for 37 years; retiring in 1987. Upon retirement, he drove for many local automotive dealers; Toyota of White River Jct., VT, being his longest. He loved to drive, and drove to various places throughout New England for dealerships.
Roger excelled at sports and received many awards. He played semi-pro basketball, and coached and played softball for many years. He also coached little league baseball for a number of years. He believed that each child should always be allowed to play in every game.
Roger was a member of the American Legion Post 22, Lebanon, NH. He was honored as Legionnaire of the year in 1989, and was made a Lifetime Member in 2009. He was also a member of the VFW, where he was awarded Lifetime Membership in 1996.
Roger was predeceased by all of his siblings. Four brothers, Harley, Stacy, Vaughn, and Percy; six sisters, Doris Ryan, Beulah Herrin, Helen Ducharme, Ruth Wills, Arlene Woolam, and Luella Barringham.
He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Terri; daughter Sharron Smardon (Steve Corbeil), West Lebanon; son Michael Dudley (Suzette), Canaan, NH; daughter Jo Ann Langone (Stephen), Enfield, NH. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Kimberly Bailey (Greg), Enfield, NH, Michael Smardon (Sherry), Hampton, CT, Roger Hodgdon (Fong), Elk Grove, CA, and Stephanie Bramhall (Adam), Nashua, NH; and five great grandchildren, Dylan and Taylor Bailey, Rajchel and Alexandra Smardon, and Azra Hodgdon.
Roger was a devoted family man who loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. His animals were a great source of joy to Roger and he treated his sheltie dogs as part of the family.

Calling Hours will be held at Ricker Funeral Home in Lebanon, NH on January 5, 2020 from 1-3:00 P.M. A Memorial Service will begin at 3:00 p.m., with burial taking place at a later date in the West Lebanon cemetery.
