LACONIA - Roland H. "Sonny" DeLucca, 81, of 2217 Parade Road, died at his home on Thursday, Jan. 28, 2010. DeLucca was born Sept. 24, 1928 in Montclair, N.J., the son of Louis and Mildred F. (Heinis) DeLucca. Sonny spent summers in the Lakes Region, moving to Laconia in 1945. He was a member of the Laconia Lodge of Elks No. 876 for 58 years and also was a member of the Belknap County 4-H Club. Sonny built the Aquedahtan Par 3 Golf Course in the early 1960s, and then built the restaurant in 1972-1973. He worked as a dairy farmer for Louis DeLucca & Sons Dairy Farm for many years. He was employed by Scott & Williams for 27 years. Sonny also worked in construction for many companies, retiring in 1993. Sonny is survived by his wife of 62 years, Christine (Pearson) DeLucca, of Laconia; three sons, Ron DeLucca, and his wife Sherry, of Clarksville, Tenn., Edward "Ted" DeLucca and his wife Debbie, and Harold DeLucca and his wife, Donna, all of Laconia; eight grandchildren, Gregg, Bradley, Deidre, David, Adam, Erica, Edward Jr. and Kim; 11 great-grandchildren; a nephew and three nieces. In addition to his parents, Mr. DeLucca was predeceased by a grandson, Raymond DeLucca; and by a brother, Robert P. DeLucca. Calling hours will be held on Sunday Jan. 31, 2010 from 1-3 p.m. in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant St., Laconia, N.H. The Laconia Lodge of Elks No. 876 will conduct a Session of Sorrow at the funeral home during calling hours at 2 p.m. A funeral service will follow at 3 p.m., also at the funeral home. Spring burial will be in the family lot in Union Cemetery, Laconia, N.H. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Community Health & Hospice, Inc. 780 North Main St., Laconia, NH 03246.
