Dr. Lynn Chesterman in 1940, supervising wheat harvest: Dr. Roscoe Lynn Chesterman (1873 - 1947) owned livery stables in Richmond, Virginia and later became a veterinary surgeon there. Over the years, he bought land in nearby Goochland County that eventually became a farm and forest of over 350 acres. This undated photograph shows Uncle Lynn (in white hat) supervising a team of workers harvesting his crop using a "Farmall" brand tractor.

Dr. Roscoe Linn Chesterman
This is a portrait of Roscoe Linn Chesterman (1873 - 1947.) Roscoe was the son of Roscoe Dabney Chesterman and Mary Washington Bolton of Richmond, Virginia. On his birth record, his name was listed as "Linwood Bohannon Chesterman" but that was changed before the 1880 census.

Linn was the owner of a livery stable in Richmond and later took a degree in veterinary surgery. He eventually amassed a property of over 350 acres in Goochland, Virginia where he farmed and continued his veterinary business.

Roscoe Dabney Chesterman (1849 - 1901)
This is a miniature photo portrait of Roscoe Dabney Chesterman. Mr. Chesterman was a policeman for the city of Richmond, Virginia. The miniature photograph was used in a mourning brooch worn by his daughter, Ethel Byron Chesterman Johnson. Mr. Chesterman died at age 52 from complications due to diabetes. He is buried in Richmond's historic Hollywood Cemetery.

Photo portrait of Roscoe Dabney Chesterman, age 22, taken in Richmond, Virginia in 1871. Roscoe was the son of Mary Jenkins and Edwin H. Chesterman. He was named for his uncle, Roscoe Dabney Jenkins.

The black and white portion of the image is from the back of the photograph and shows notations added by Asa Johnson, Roscoe's son-in-law.
