Rose Edith (Hubber) Mcpherson of Elwood, Port Phillip City County, VIC Australia was born in 1877 in Stawell, Northern Grampians Shire County to John Hubber and Ann Burton Hubber. Rose Mcpherson had siblings Winifred Mary Hubber, Allan Edward Hubber, Dorothea Grace (Hubber) Jones, and John "Jack" Hubber. She married William John Fraser in 1898. They had children Vera Alison Fraser and Edith Jane Vivian Fraser. She would also marry Donald Mcpherson, and they had a child Jean Fraser Mcpherson. Rose Mcpherson died at age 85 years old in 1962 in Elwood, Port Phillip City County.

In 1877, in the year that Rose Edith (Hubber) Mcpherson was born, on March 2nd, the U.S. presidential election of 1876 was ended with the selection of Rutherford B. Hayes as the winner. Samuel J. Tilden had won the popular vote in November 1876 but 20 votes in the electoral college were in dispute. An informal agreement was made in which Hayes agreed to remove federal troops from South Carolina, Florida, and Louisiana, ending Reconstruction in the South. So, on March 4th, Rutherford B. Hayes became the 19th President of the United States.
