White Born 1901 and named Theodore Roosevelt McGinn, after the US President of that year. He told a story his parents had told him that he and all children born that year received a new pair of shoes as a gift from Teddy Roosevelt. Later in his life when social security registration came about he restructured his name as Ross Theodore McGinn, most often referred to as Ross T McGinn. With the last name McGinn, many people, including his 2nd wife Ruth McGinn called him Mack. He was an educator and spent his life in the teaching profession. He was Principle of Mellwood School, but in those day’s it included the duties of Teacher, Coach, Custodian, stove tender, etc. due to his education background. Many people referred to him as Professor, Or the more endearing nickname, Fesser. He was well loved in the community and taught many generations of the families in south Phillips county Arkansas. His off time in the summers were spent surveying Cotton Fields, and there probably wasn’t any land he was not familiar with in that area. When he wasn’t surveying he was fishing which was a lifelong passion in the OC bows along the mississippi and white rivers.
