His mother Katherine "Sally" Grzyb was born on March 23, 1909 in Oborezyska, Baranowo, Przasnysz, Mazowieckie, Poland and immigrated to the US as a young girl sometime before 1911. She was one of 11 children and resided in St Louis City, Missouri, USA. On January 24, 1929 she married Roy in St. Charles, Missouri and the couple lived in Central, St Louis, Missouri. They later moved to Texas living in McAllen, TX and Corpus Christi, TX. She passed away on December 17, 1999 in Corpus Christi, Kleberg, Texas, USA. She suffered from high blood pressure. His father Roy was born on June 1, 1902 in St Louis, Missouri, USA and grew up there. He first married Melba Padfield (1902–) on January 3, 1920 in Clayton, St Louis, Missouri, USA. They had a daughter, Melba Mae Mestemacher (1921-1971). He then married Katherine on January 24, 1929. The couple moved to Texas residing in Weslaco, Hidalgo, Texas, USA where he was the district Superintendent. He passed away on February 22, 1953 of Coronary Occlusion in McAllen, Hidalgo, Texas, USA.
