  • Introduction

Grandpap Roy was the best. He had a real sense of humor, a real jokester. But he loved family very much. I remember when my brother and I were young we had a dog we just loved his name was Smokie. On night a car came along swerved toward smokie and hit him. Grandpap burried smokie ln top of a hill under a pine. The Pittsburgh Pirates wanted him as a pitcher for the Pirates. When he told grandma she asked what they were paying. He told her she said no. I remember grandpap would have a baseball game on TV, the Radio, plus playing a game of 500. Win the game of cards, and never missed a lick of either ball game he was listening to. Pap made the best fried potatoes I have ever eaten anywhere. He one time heard on the radio that eggs and mayonase made a good hair conditioner. So when mkm went up he told her and they tried it. Mom said they had a very difficult time getting it out. Whem my dad would get locked in at J & L Steel in Aliquilpa PA. Grandpap would take a suite case and through it over the fenc. We used to have really good times at the camp in the mountins. Grandpap had throat cancer and they had to remove his voice box. So he spoke with his words were a taker against his throat. He worked as a security gard for the failroad. They had 4 children. But I loved them both very much
