She married Claud Milton Secrest in 1930, and they were married until Ruby's death on July 11, 1998. Ruby Secrest had children Billy Lloyd Secrest and Anna Lou Snider.

Previously, customs duties (tariffs) and excise taxes were the primary sources of federal revenue.
