She had siblings Jessie Elizabeth Ellen (Mckenzie) Worthington, John Arthur "Jack" Mckenzie, Donald Thomas Mckenzie, Ada Jane Mckenzie, Sarah Violet Agnes McKenzie, Elsie Pearl (Mckenzie) Patterson, Leonard James Mckenzie, and William Charles Mckenzie. She married Charles William Knox in 1910, and had children Gladys May Knox, Keith William Knox, Stanley Charles Knox, Vera Alice Knox, and Leslie John Knox. Ruby Knox died at age 74 years old on April 26, 1959 in Adelaide, SA.

In 1884, in the year that Ruby May (Mckenzie) Knox was born, on August 5th, the cornerstone for the base of the Statue of Liberty - a gift from the people of France - was laid. 120,000 people - most donations were $1 - donated to the completion of the base. In 1913, Ruby was 29 years old when Henry Ford installed the first moving assembly line for the mass production of an entire automobile. It had previously taken 12 hours to assemble a whole vehicle - now it took only two hours and 30 minutes! Inspired by the production lines at flour mills, breweries, canneries and industrial bakeries, along with the disassembly of animal carcasses in Chicago’s meat-packing plants, Ford created moving belts for parts and the assembly line was born.
