She had siblings Maud Elizabeth Sutton, Lillian Sutton, and Florence May Sutton. She married James Smith in 1913, and had children Ruby Elizabeth Smith and Ronald James Smith. Ruby Smith died at age 74 years old in 1967 in Lorne, Surf Coast Shire County.
