    Born in NY-possibly Brooklyn-to German parents. After some "friendly" boxing at an amateur club, during which he took some heavy blows to the head, he said "I guess I got enough" and passed out. He died shortly after. Had been in the Army over 25 years but had been separated from it due to a heart problem.
