Russell Frederick Beglau is the child of Elizabeth Augusta Martha Schneider (1899-1976) and Fred Beglau (1900-1973). He was born on July 9, 1926 in the state of Michigan and had one brother, Darrell Schneider Beglau (1925-1989). He married Barbara J Wolfer on January 17, 1946 in tutsman County, North Dakota, USA. Russell moved to San Luis Obispo, California in the late 1980's. On February 13, 2011 Russell Frederick Beglau passed away in Mammoth Lakes, Mono, California, USA.

He was white of German decent. His mother was born in Berlin, Germany and his father was born and raised in Edgley, North Dakota, USA.

Russell was raised in Detroit Michigan, moved to North Dakota in the mid 1930's, and later moved to Southern California in the mid 1970's and would live the rest of his life there.

At the time of enlistment, had completed 4 years of high school.

Russell enlisted into the Air Corps on January 4, 1945 in Ft Leavenworth Kansas (Military serial#: 17118334). His rank was, "Private, Reserves - Exclusive Of Regular Army Reserve And Officers Of The Officers Reserve Corps On Active Duty Under The Thomason Act" and his terms of enlistment were, "Enlistment For The Duration Of The War Or Other Emergency, Plus Six Months, Subject To The Discretion Of The President Or Otherwise According To Law".
