    Dowis, Ruth Ann Saginaw, MI Loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 23, 2013 at the Cartwright Hospice Center. Ruth Ann Gehrcke was born on November 4, 1933, Saginaw, Michigan to the late Charles and Edna Gehrcke. She married William C. Dowis on May 10, 1952 and he predeceased her in 1991. Ruth was a member of Michigan Avenue Baptist Church and enjoyed gardening, painting, and cooking. Ruth was blessed with four sons, one daughter, and their spouses: Steven (Donna) Dowis, Barbara (John) Palmer, Michael (Kathie) Dowis, Gregory (Julie) Dowis, and daughter in law, Angela Dowis; ten grandchildren, Michael, Ben, Shawn, Bree, Amanda, Bill, Matthew, Andrew, Nick, and Justin; seven great grandchildren, Tyler, Christopher, Ralin, Zachary, Katie, Ryan, and Jacob; and one brother, Robert Gehrcke. She was predeceased by: her son Christopher; sister, Elaine Sova; brother, Bruce Gehrcke; special friend, Martin Mikulewicz. A private family celebration of Ruth's life has been held. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider Covenant Healthcare Foundation.
