  • Introduction

Ruth was my Grandmother and unfortunately she died when I was two. So what I know of her is from what my parents and my maternal grandmother told me. What no one has said, but I must surmise she was a strong and independent woman. Her husband George died leaving her to raise an 8 year. old daughter, my aunt and a 4 year old boy my father on her own in 1942. Both of her children went to college earning teaching and mathematical degrees.
