    Salvatore George Poidomani was born on March 5, 1923 in Paterson, NJ to parents Giorgio Poidomani (1891-1973) and Carmela Lacarubba Poidomani (1903-1989). He was an only child. He was a graduate of St. Agnes Orphanage in Nyack, NY and upon Graduation joined the Conservation Corp in Alabama. He registered for the military draft at the age of 22 on December 4, 1945, in Bronx, New York. Salvatore then enlisted in the United States Army on February 7, 1942, in New York City, New York. He joined the Army as a Private under the Branch Immaterial - Warrant Officers category. During World War II, Salvatore George Poidomani served in the Aleutian Islands, located in Alaska. He was married to Marie Cascioli and together they had two children; George E Poidomani and Concetta Poidomani. Sal was a carpenter by trade, but was an avid cook and in 1978 opened Sals Spaghetti House in Allentown, PA.

    Salvatore G. Poidomani, 87, of Roseto, passed away February 25 in Easton Hospital, Wilson Borough, PA. Born March 5, 1923 in Paterson, NJ, a son of the late Giorgio and Carmella Lacarubba Poidomani. Sal was a carpenter by trade, but was an avid cook and in 1978 opened Sals Spaghetti House in Allentown, PA. He was a graduate of St. Agnes Orphanage in Nyack, NY and upon Graduation joined the Conservation Corp in Alabama. He enlisted in the Army at the start of WWII and served in the Aleutian Islands in Alaska. He was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, Roseto. He was a former member of The Roseto Chapter of UNICO. He was a 60 year member and Life member of the Martocci-Capobianco American Legion Post 750 of Roseto. He and beloved wife, former Marie Cascioli, were married 60 years last June 24th. Survivors: In addition to wife Marie, he is survived by a son, George E., of Roseto; and a daughter Concetta Poidomani, of Phoenixville, PA; and three grandchildren, Matthew, Jonathan and Caitie Naab. A daughter Concetta Ann, died earlier. Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 1 at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Third and Garibaldi Avenues, Roseto. Call on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Tuesday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. in the Fiore Funeral Home (www.fiorefuneralhome.com) 230 Market St., Bangor, PA 18013. Military Burial Services will be in New Mt. Carmel Cemetery Roseto. The Roseto American Legioni will meet at 7 p.m. at the Funeral Home. Contributions: Memorial Donations may be offered in Salvatores name to either the Church, PO Box 422, Roseto, PA 18013 or to the Dominican Sisters, Development Office, 175 Route 340 Sparkhill, NY 10976-1047.
