Samuel was born February 5,1783 in Lee County, Virginia. He died in Pike County, IL on September 12, 1870. Samuel was a Baptist Minister in IL. He married Sarah Stark in 1805 in Virginia. Sam and Sarah had eight children. Their daughter, Sarah married John Dunlap and they had one daughter, Kisiah. Kisiah married John Hughes in 1855 in Pike County, IL. Their daughter Martha Francis Hughes married Samuel Lafayette Doyle in Oklahoma.
