Samuel Ernest Tardrew was born to Lewis Henry Tardrew (1841-1884) and Mary Ann Manley (1853-1931), and he had six siblings: Alfred (born & died in 1871), Mary Jane (1872-1912), John Lewis (1875-1946), Richard George (1876-1948), Lewis Henry (1878-1884), and Sarha Ellen Maria Tardrew (1883-1963). He had three half siblings William Walter Tardrew Gollop (1886-1887), Grace Florence Kennedy (1895-1938), and Parry Alexander Kennedy (1896-1974). Samuel married Vera Agnes Lawsom (1884-1964) in 1901 in Victoria Australia, and they had four children Pearl Mary (born 1902), Kathleen Hope (born and died in 1904), Cliford Charles Louis (1905-1978), and Ivor Earnest Tardrew (1906-1982). He also married Mary Ellen Flanagan (1893-1979) in 1918 Victoria Australia and they had Louis Howard (1919-1941) and Gwendoline Nita Tardrew (1922-2000).
