    Samuel told the 1950 Federal Census that he was a "con partner" in the real estate and insurance business. When he died at the age of 73, his Connecticut death certificate said that he was the President in a realty company: Pierson, Smith Incorporated.

    Samuel Fiske Pierson, born Pearson, was born to Samuel N. Pearson (1887 - 1946) and Dorothy Lillie Fiske (1888 - 1963) and had siblings Mary (1913 - 1996) and John (1922 - 1943). On his October 1940 World War II draft card, Samuel described himself as being six feet tall and as weighing 190 pounds. He had hazel eyes, brown hair, and a "light" complexion. Samuel Pearson, married Mary "Esther" Crandell (1917 - 1997), and they had two daughters and two sons: Samuel C., Loretta, Lloyd J. F., and Laurel.

In 1915, in the year that Samuel F Pierson was born, the Superior Court in Fulton County Georgia accepted the charter for the establishment of the new Ku Klux Klan, succeeding the Klan that flourished in the South in the late 1800's. This iteration of the Klan adopted white clothing and used many of the code words from the first Klan, adding cross burnings and mass marches in an attempt to intimidate others.

In 1922, Samuel was just 7 years old when the Lincoln Memorial was dedicated in Washington, D.C. on May 30th. More than 35,000 people attended the dedication including Lincoln's son, Robert Todd Lincoln, and many Union and Confederate veterans - although the audience was segregated. The Memorial took 10 years to complete.
