Samuel Jelf Boulton Snr 1830 - 1899

Samuel Boulton Sr. was born in 1830, and had a brother Alfred Jelf Boulton. He was in a relationship with Sophia Elizabeth (Newbold) Boulton, and had children Sophia Mary West, Letitia Emily (Boulton) Abbott, Alfred Jelf Boulton, and Samuel Jelf Boulton Jnr. Samuel Boulton died at age 68 years old on February 25, 1899 in Armadale, Stonnington City County, VIC Australia, and was buried at St Kilda Cemetery in Saint Kilda East, Port Phillip City County.

  • Introduction

    Married 1853 - Bethnal Green, London. Arrived in Australia with his family in 1869 on the iron hulled clipper (barque)"Superb" built in 1866, Blackwall Yard, London. The Age, Melbourne. 25th February 1867. NOTES FROM THE SEA. On Saturday, the 16th inst., the new iron clipper ship Superb ( Green's line ) cleared out for London with a heavy cargo, and 40,000 oz of gold. She also takes a large number of passengers, among whom are several old and respected colonists; a number of persons assembled on the Sandridge pier to witness her departure.

    The Age, Melbourne. 27th February 1899. BOULTON.- On the 25th February, at his residence "Alpha," Avondale-road, Armadale, Samuel Jelf Boulton, builder, beloved husband of S. E. Boulton, and dearly beloved father of Mrs. H. Abbott, Norwood-street, Caulfield, and beloved brother of A. J. Boulton, of Ballarat. In his 70th year, late of London. No flowers. Ballarat papers please copy. We shall meet at Jesus' feet, and never part again. The Age, Melbourne, 26th February 1900. IN MEMORIAM. BOULTON.- In loving memory of my dear father, Samuel Jelf Boulton, who fell asleep 25th February, 1899. We soon shall meet at Jesus' feet, and never part again. L. A.
