Sarah Ann (Sawyer) Griffith of Dromana Australia was born in April 1848 in London, Greater London County, England United Kingdom to Sarah Annie (Prosser) Sawyer Renouf and Isaac James Sawyer. She had siblings Annie Sarah Sawyer Hopcraft, Frederick Sawyer, Jesse Sawyer, Henry Sawyer, Isaac James Sawyer, and Emma (Sawyer) Henry. She married Jonah Griffith, and had children Maud Alice Griffith, Edith Annie (Griffith) Smith, Delia Sarah (Griffith) Guest, Gertrude Griffith, Frederick George Sylvester Griffith, Harry Lewis Griffith, and Grace Dora (Griffith) Cairns. Sarah Griffith died at age 88 years old on July 22, 1936 in Dromana, Shire of Mornington Peninsula County, VIC Australia, and was buried at Dromana Cemetery in Arthurs Seat.
