Linda Rauton
My grandmother was Herman's sister. Her name was Sarah Butler. She stated that Herman died while trying to help people escape the Riverview Hotel that had caught on fire. Please see newspaper clipping attached to his profile. He was in the Military and had married a woman named Rita Josephine Angelone (sp?) the year prior to his death. They had no children. I have been unsuccessful locating a death certificate or a burial place for him. If anyone has this information, I would greatly appreciate sharing of that info. I have the bible that belonged to Herman's mother, Annie Belle Bowles Butler and would be happy to share information, if requested.
