A letter to my friend
Dear Sarah,
How I miss you. I was aware that you were ill and I have tried to
get in touch with you, all in vain. Now after many years have
passed by, I know with much, much regret that you are no
longer with us.
Besides being my friend, you were my mentor and inspired
me greatly in my career and life in general. I will never forget
our days back in the 1980's at CA and all our endeavors and
the challenges we faced. Plus all the fun we had.
You possessed a tremendous sense of humor, intelligence,
smartness, elegance and an incredible ability to solve all
kinds of problems -- often of a sudden and intricate
nature. Your ability to juggle several languages and your
writing skills were also first class.
I still keep the copy of your cook book which you gave me plus
several notes, Christmas greetings and post cards from your
vacations with Antonio.
I run the risk of being long-winded when writing about you
but I can sum it up like this: There are very few people like you,
at least none that I know.
It is my hope that you are resting well. I am sure we will meet
again somewhere.
With much love,
Eva
