Introduction

Servos was my Grandfather. He was father to Louis his eldest and only son and his twin daughters Janice Mae and Joan Ellen both born on Servos’s 30th birthday March 20, 1939. He was head of maintenance and heating and cooling for Metropolitan Hospital when it was on Boston St in Grand Rapids, MI. Servos donated time and bibles as well as distributed bibles to hotels and other establishments for the Gideons.

Servos Henry Van Koevering was my grandfather. My maiden name is Cathy Anne Jenkins. My mother was a twin born to Servos and his wife Cornelia. My mother and her twin were born on Servos' 30th birthday. The twins were Joan Ellen and Janice Mae. Servos and Cornelia also had a son, Louis. He was the eldest child. Servos worked as a bus driver in Grand Rapids MI but later went on to be a Maintenance Engineer for Osteopathic Hospital which is now Metro Health. Cornelia and Servos lived on Hemitage St. in Grand Rapids. They also had a cottage on Lake Michigan. The cottage is located on the upper boardwalk at the Holland State Park area. It is now called the Chalet. Servos loved photography and was a talented photographer in his spare time. A hobby and a passion. He loved to read. His sense of humor was quick.
