    Burns, Shahid Alim FORESTVILLE, Md. Shahid Alim Burns, 35, of Forestville, Md., passed away on Sunday, May 16, 2010 at his home surrounded by his family and fiancee. He fought a courageous battle against sarcoma cancer. Shahid was born in Albany, N.Y. on December 30, 1974. He was the first born son to Richard Burns and Regina (Miller) Burns. Shahid was a graduate of Albany High School. In 1999, Shahid relocated to Largo, Md. He fulfilled his lifelong dream when he received a B.A. in marketing from the historic Howard University. He had a well developed entrepreneurial spirit; he owned several businesses during his short but full life. At the time of his death, Shahid worked as a sales manager for 20/20 Communications, Alexandria, Va. Shahid was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Joseph Miller Jr. of Albany and his paternal grandparents, Paul and Evelyn Burns (Helen) of Brooklyn, N.Y. He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving grandmother, Velma Miller; his parents, Richard Burns and Regina (Miller) Burns; his siblings, Guy Burns of Charleston, S.C., Tracy McGill of columbia, S.C., Mashama Burns (Jamar Lipscomb) of Albany, Naimah Sillah of Washington, D.C. and Kabeer Burns of Mitchellville, Md. Shahid is also survived by his fiancee, Lara Babarinsa of Bowie, Md. and a host of dedicated family members and friends. Funeral services will be held in Union Missionary Baptist Church, 3 Morton Ave., Albany at 12:00; viewing 9-12 p.m. Saturday, May 22, 2010. Interment will follow in Memory's Garden Cemetery. Shahid's repast will be held at the Schuyler Inn, 575 Broadway, Menands, N.Y. Callers received at 100 Livingston Ave., Albany.
