My dearest friend
For many years, Shari and I were great friends. We worked at the same law firms and shared many friends. Her extra closet was filled with my overflow of clothes and she wore them often. We joked about it. "I love that dress. I think I have one like it." We shared the deepest secrets that we never told others. The year Shari became ill, I was recovering from a stroke, but I was able to see her twice before she passed. Our friendship is still precious to me. She knew the hopes and dreams and loves of my life, and I knew hers. We encouraged one another. We shared a great deal of wit and laughter. Our last words were, "I love you. I'll see you soon." I miss her so much, even after all of these years.
