    Sharon as a child loved her brothers. They really were good brothers. They were protective. She loved to dance in the patio behind her house attached to the garage. She was funny and wanted to grow up too fast. She dealt with nasty allergies and asthma. Mary (Peanuts), Sharon and I spent many years being kids and having fun! A best friend of hers growing up was Mary Ellen Berry. Sharon attended Curie High School and graduated in 1979.

In 1961, in the year that Sharron Bujnowski was born, on April 17th, about 1,000 CIA trained Cuban exiles invaded Cuba with the intention of igniting a rebellion and overthrowing Castro. They were defeated within three days. Although the operation began under Eisenhower, Kennedy approved it and the operation, named the Bay of Pigs for the beach where they landed, was a humiliation for the United States.

In 1970, she was only 9 years old when on May 4th, four students at Kent State University in Ohio were shot and killed by National Guardsmen. The students were at a peaceful demonstration protesting the invasion of Cambodia by US forces. There had been precedent for the killing of American college students. The previous year, on May 15th, Alameda County Sheriffs used shotguns against U.C. Berkeley students at a protest for People's Park. One student died, one was blinded, 128 were injured.
