Shelby complained if severe back pain went to the hospital they found cancer in his spine and Shelby died 5 days later. Shelby never made it back home. He passed from this life in his early 30s, way to young and soon. Leaving his wife Lenora and son Shelby Alan May's to mourn his passing. Proceeding Shelby in death was his oldest son, Roger Mays who died at age 4 of Spina bifida.
