    Shelling Hwong was born to Kuo C Hwong and Kwok Hwong. Shelling once worked as the vice-consul for Nationalist China, in Honolulu, Born in Taiwan, Shelling applied for naturalization on August 31, 1962 in California. He was living at 900 S. Plymouth Blvd., Los Angeles California. In 1959, Shelling was a partner in Mei Ling Chinese Kitchen in Los Angeles County and also owned another restaurant. His hobby was painting "Oriental watercolors" on rice paper. Shelling Hwong was married to Lisa Lu, an actress. She acted with Jimmy Stewart in "The Mountain Road". Previous to acting, she had worked in the United States Army language school in Monterey, California, where Shelling was also an instructor in 1955.
