In 1994, took an early retirement due to health problems. Sherman and Pamela moved to Kingwood, Texas, to be close to their daughter, who delivered their first grandchild, Nick Lardon, on November 3, in Kingwood. Nick was the light of Sherman's life. In 2000, Sherman and Pamela moved to Georgetown to be near Liberty Hill, Texas, where they intended to build a home and retire. Sherman died suddenly on December 9, 2000 in the company of his beloved sister Linda. He left behind many bereft relatives including his loving wife Pamela Kaye, daughter Katherine, son in law Jon Christian, grandchildren Nick, Madison, and Josephine. Also left bereft were his sister Linda, his mother LaNell, sister Linda, nieces Susie and Cindy and many great nieces and nephews, all of whom still feel the void and miss his giant laugh. Sherman played the Sousaphone in the high school band, ran in marathons, loved to laugh and tease with a very dry humor. He read history and had strong opinions about politics as a liberal independent. We will miss him forever.
