Mr. Shuron Jamison, 16, died on Thursday September 25, 2003 at his residence. He was the son of Ameen Anderson and the late Sheree Jamison. Mr Jamison was born in York on March 12, 1987. He had worked for Young's Grocery and attended Temple of Grace Church.
He is also survived by sisters, brothers, stepsisters, grandparents, uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 12 noon from the Emmanuel Church of God in Christ, 825 E. Princess St., York. Viewing will be today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the church. Burial will be in Lebanon Cemetery. Rev. Maurice Nicholson will officiate and Rev. Danny Evans will give the eulogy. Boulding Mortuary, Inc., Boundary and Cleveland Avenues, York, is in charge of arrangements.

In 1987, in the year that Shuron B Jamison was born, on October 19th, stock exchanges around the world crashed. Beginning in Hong Kong then spreading to Europe, the crash then hit the United States. It was called Black Monday. The Dow Jones fell 508 points to 1,738.74 (22.61%).
In 1991, when he was just 4 years old, on December 25th, the Soviet Union flag was lowered and replaced by the Russian tricolor flag. It was the end of the Soviet Union. Mikhail Gorbachev resigned as President of the Soviet Union and Boris Yeltsin became President of the Russian Republic.
In 1993, Shuron was merely 6 years old when on February 26th, a truck bomb exploded in the garage under the North Tower of the World Trade Center. While the bomb didn't do what was planned (collapse the North Tower into the South Tower), it did kill six people and injured thousands of people.
In 1994, at the age of only 7 years old, Shuron was alive when on May 6th, the Channel Tunnel or "Chunnel" was officially opened. The Chunnel is a railway tunnel beneath the English Channel that connects Great Britain to mainland France. Original plans for such a tunnel were developed in 1802 and approved by Napoleon Bonaparte but the British rejected the plan fearing that Napoleon would use the railway to invade.
In 1999, Shuron was only 12 years old when the fear that Y2K (year 2000) would cause the failure of computers worldwide when clocks didn't properly update to January 1st, 2000 became near panic. While some computer systems and software did have problems, the panic was unfounded and computer life went on.
