Signy Everina Domholt was born to parents Andrew Lillestol and Mariane Oline Andersdtr. She was white of Norwegian heritage. Her mother Mariane was born on June 15, 1872 in Haugen, Bø, Nordland, Norge. She married Andrew on May 26, 1893 in Bø, Nordland, Norge and then immigrated to the states in 1903. She resided in Homestead, Richland, North Dakota, USA and then moved to Minneapolis, Hennepin, Minnesota, USA. She passed away on August 29, 1957 in Hennepin County, Minnesota, USA. Her father Andrew was born on May 2, 1867 in Lillestøylen, Hornindal, Sogn og Fjordane, Norge. He immigrated to the US arriving in New York. NY in 1903. He worked as a farmer in Homestead, Richland, North Dakota, USA and was a grocery clerk in Minneapolis, Hennepin, Minnesota, USA. He passed away on March 31, 1936 in Hennepin County, Minnesota, USA.

Signy was born and raised in Rise, Bø, Nordland, Norge. She immigrated to the United States in 1903 and first resided in Homestead, Richland, North Dakota, USA and after marrying Oscar, lived in Nansen, Richland, North Dakota, USA. The couple then moved to Fergus Falls, Otter Tail, Minnesota, USA in the 1930's. She remained there for the rest of her life passing away in Fergus Falls on October 4, 1993.
