Simon Williams, Sr., 61 of Sweeny formerly of Churchill will be Saturday, November 7, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Strait Gate Gospel Church in Brazoria with Dr. Rita Evans officiating. Burial will follow at Galilee Cemetery in Brazoria, Texas. He died Tuesday, October 27, 2009 at Memorial Herman Hospital in Houston, Texas. He was a member of Praise Fellowship Church. He enjoyed preaching, singing and playing his guitar. He also enjoyed cooking and fishing. He graduated in 1968 from Columbia High School. He was preceded in death by his father, Rev. Walter Odell Williams and brother, Joshua Williams. He is survived by his loving mother, Lula Bell Williams, Sweeny, wife, Shirley Fite Williams, Long Beach, California, son, Simon Williams, Jr., Long Beach, California, daughters, Syvee J. Fite, Las Vegas, Nevada, Simmone L. Williams, Long Beach, California, Ramona Williams, Houston and Denise Randon, Brazoria, step-daughter, LaShannda L. Cokley, Long Beach, California, brothers, Walter James Williams, Wilmington, California and Timothy Williams, Sr. (Fawn), West Columbia, sisters, Victory Earls, Houston and Wanda Gale Lemon (George), Sweeny, sister-in-law, Rosie Williams, Texas City, 11 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and host of other relatives and friends. Active pallbearers will be Ernest Williams, Wayne Johnson, Oliver Bryant, Calvin Williams, Mark Bonner and Gerald Bonner. Honorary pallbears will be Walter J. Williams, Timothy B.
