    Simon Russi was born to Rose Winokur and Nathan Russi. A native of Poland, Simon petitioned for naturalization in the United States, first entering the United Sates in 1938. A veteran of World War II, Simon served in the United States Army from August of 1943 to November of 1946. Simon Russi married Gertrude "Gitla" K. Kupferblum on April 7, 1938 in Pisa, Italy and they had daughters Judith Ann and Rosemarie K. Russi. See Simon Russi: Obituary.

    RUSSI Simon Russi died Tuesday, May 7, 1991 at his residence in Alexandria, Virginia. He is survived by his wife, Gertrude K. Russi; two daughters, Judith Russi Kirshner of Chicago, Illinois, and Rosemarie Russi Howe of Alexandria, Virginia; and four grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at Temple Micah, 600 M Street SW, Washington, D.C. 20024, on Thursday, May 9, at 12:00 noon. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests that charitable contributions be made to Hospice of Northern Virginia, 4715 N. 15th St., Arlington, Virginia 22205, or Temple Micah. Arrangements by Ives-Pearson Funeral Homes. - Richmond Times-Dispatch (Richmond, Virginia) on Wednesday, May 8, 1991 on page 22.
