Stanley James Sum of Butler, Butler County, PA was born on April 15, 1943 in Penn Hills, Allegheny County to Thelma Lois Yeager Sum and Leroy William Sum. He had siblings William Leroy Sum, Clara LaVerne Sum Bradley, and Lois Eileen Sum Holmes. He married Alice Ward Moore Sum, and had children Thomas Jeffrey Sum, Brenda Joyce Sum Simon, James Stanley Sum, and Kim Louise Sum Bailie.
