Stanley was born in 12/23/1951.
He was 20 years old when he died due to injuries he suffered in a motorcycle accident in Wareham, MA.
He survived for 11 weeks at Peter Bent Brigham Hospital in Boston prior to his death.
He was the son of John & Eugenia (Taraska) Lenkewicz of Cumberland, RI.
Stanley lived in Cumberland all of his life. Graduating from Cumberland High School in 1972. Stanley was
a kind person. He loved riding motorcycles and his second passion was playing hockey. He played throughout high school. Then joined a team of his friends to continue to play after graduation. His high school paid tribute to his (hockey) legacy by giving a “most valuable player” award, each year after his passing, at Cumberland High School.
Stanley was very mechanically inclined and would succeed at anything he tried to accomplish.
God had other plans and took him home way too young.
Stanley’s father John was a volunteer on the Ashton Rescue & Fire Department and also worked at Owens Corning Fiberglass where NASA spacesuit material was made. He died of a heart attack in 1982.
His mother, a master gardener & stay at home mom, died in 2012.
Stanley’s was the brother of Walter Lenkewicz who died in 1987 due to complications of cardiac surgery.
Stanley also had a sister Jane (Lenkewicz) Larsen who misses each and all of them everyday.
