From the NJ Star Ledger Oct 2007 Stanley Nychay Amtrak electrician and Korean War veteran, 79 Stanley Nychay, 79, died on Oct. 24, 2007, at his residence in Roselle Park. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the funeral service from the Mastapeter Funeral Home, 400 Faitoute Ave., Roselle Park, on Monday, Oct. 29, at 11 a.m. Family will gather at 10 a.m. Interment will be in Graceland Memorial Park. Visitation is from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday. Born in Stafford, Conn., Mr. Nychay lived in Irvington before moving to Roselle Park 30 years ago. He was a substation electrician for Amtrak in Newark for 30 years before retiring 12 years ago. An Army veteran of the Korean War, Mr. Nychay was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Belleville and a member of the American Legion Post 60 in Roselle Park and American Legion Post 229 in Roselle. He was predeceased by his son, Glenn J. Nychay, and is survived by his beloved wife, Joan (Olayer); his son, Scott; a brother, Michael; a sister, Olga Baatz; his dear friend, Harry Titel, and several nieces and nephews.
