Stephan was very close to his brother Nick. Nick's death in an auto accident broke Stephan's heart. He was never the same afterwards. Stephan was very intelligent, having a genius IQ, and multi-talented. He was an accomplished musician who played guitar and had a wonderful voice. A sitar was added to his musical collection. He was also very mechanical as well as a wonderful and creative cook. During this era, Stephan lived in the Avenues in San Francisco and could be seen around town either in his VW bus or riding his Harley Davidson. In 1969, Stephan and Nick had a business supplying essential oils, candles, etc. to head shops popular in that era. Later he continued to market these products through mail order. He met and married a girl named Annie in 1969. They later divorced and had no children. Like all of us, Stephan was not perfect.

Majored in English. Was at Stanford University in the 90s. He must have also studied psychology as there are a number of journal article reference on the interest about using the internet to counsel patients.
