Stephen G. Barner Jr. died suddenly at his home on Thursday,March 4,2013. He was 20. Born in Bristol,Stephen was a lifelong resident of Langhorne and a member of Our Lady of Grace Parish. He was a 2011 graduate of Neshaminy High School,where he ran track and cross country. Stephen was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army in 2012. He was an avid hunter and fisherman with the Bucktail Hunting Club. Most recently,he worked side by side with his father in the family business,Barner Murphy Plumbing and Heating. Beloved son of Stephen G. Barner Sr. and Amanda L. (Hofmeister) Barner; Stephen was the loving brother of Colin. He was the grandson of George and Helene Hofmeister and the cherished nephew of Elizabeth Pearsall,Kathleen Schaffer,Joseph Barner Jr.,James Barner,Regina MacNeal,Kristina Attryde and George Hofmeister Jr. He will also be sadly missed by numerous cousins and extended family members. Family and friends are invited to call 7 to 9 P.M. Sunday,at The James J. Dougherty Funeral Home,Inc.,2200 Trenton Road,Levittown. His funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday at 11:00 A.M. at Our Lady of Grace Church,225 S. Bellevue Ave.,Penndel where friends may call from 10:00 A.M. until time of mass. Rite of Committal will follow in Our Lady of Grace Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Stephen's name may be made to the American Diabetes Association,150 Monument Road,Suite 100,Bala Cynwyd,PA 19004. Condolences may be posted at the funeral home's website below www.doughertyfuneralhome.com
