Introduction

Steve was a good man. He tried to be devout in his religion and though he always felt he failed he was still our rock that we relied on. He always tried to be there for us. Though his life was less than stellar, he loved his family and tried to instill in us how precious 'family' is and should be. He tried to be there for us and support us in all our decisions. He allowed us to fail and grow, he showed us love and was always proud of all of us. He wanted so much to atone for his sins before he died and I think he believed that the suffering he went through prior to his death was because of his shortcomings. He was my Father and although he fell off his pedestal I had him up on, I still loved him and always tried to get to know him and understand him through his hardships. He was a hardworking man that worked all day and then came home and worked into the evenings just to make sure we had enough money to live on without worry. We would play cards for hours and discuss things that only a child could relate to with their Father. I was the middle child and didn't realize how important it was for my Father to have a son. When he finally acquired one, I felt kind of left out and worked harder to impress him that I was worth it. It took a few years but I realized I didn't have to impress him so much as to allow him to love me in the way he knew how. We worked together on so many things and he taught me how to live without him which made me want to be in his life more. I'll always miss him! He tried to show all of us as much love as he could.
