Born in Brooklyn, NY on January 19, 1937 not January 12, to parents of Austrian origin. Grew up at 15 Crown Street, Brooklyn, NY. Attended Erasmus Hall High School, and Hofstra University, then earned MD at SUNY Downstate Medical School in Brooklyn. Did postgraduate medical training at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center in NY, NY and VA Hospital at Fort Hamilton Brooklyn. Became Board Certified in Ear Nose and Throat specialty and practiced that specialty in Silver Spring and Takoma Park MD, and opened other practice offices nearby. He and his family (wife Judith, daughter Jennifer, son Joshua), lived for many years on Burdette Rd, in Bethesda, Maryland. Had one sister, who at one time was a member of the American Ballet Theatre, after which she lived in Hempstead, LI, NY. Wife Judith was trained in Music Education, at Queens College, NYC and was one of the founding Docents of the Hirshhorn Museum on the Washington Mall. Judith Landau went on to become part of the museum education studies at Johns Hopkins University where she heads the museum internship program.
