She married Peter Shanks on October 1 in Champaign, Champaign County, and they were married until Peter's death on May 20, 2017. She would also marry Ron Schurg on March 25 in Champaign, Champaign County and they later divorced on May 20, 2017. They had a child Lindsey Shanks.
