Did Ted live for a time at 321A Kaelepulu, Kailua HI 96734-3300? The Ted Goldman I am looking for, and I, talked on the phone and emailed each other for several months in 1998 - 1999. He was fun to chat with.
; intelligent and well read. We never met in person but I went looking for him today because during one of our online or phone chats we had a tea together, virtually. I was having a cup of tea and mentioned he was too! So I wrote a poem about it. Today I was going over the poetry getting it ready to be published.
Our talks were very therapeutic for me, and also for him, I think. Neither of us talked about what was going on in our lives.
26.(Written for Ted in Hawaii. No particular reason. )
Taking Tea
We met across expansive gleams
Of nappered linens, which were white
A rose pursed pink lips, coyed by leaves
that nodded, spoke, in both our sights
We took tea, we nibbled, sipped
we nuanced, foiled, laughed and sighed
As time unfolded we traded, glimpsed
the parts of us that do not lie.
We took tea, in sylvan air
reforming wishes, vaulting hopes
We strengthened spirit, lost despair
resetting goals, we stretched our scope.
We took tea, one afternoon
And found the best things end too soon.
