Teodoro Servo 1916 - 1979

Introduction

Teodoro Lebrilla Servo was born on 15 of December, 1916 in Sta. Rosa, Laguna, Philippines. He was from a British descent. He grew up at the time of American occupation in the Philippines. When he was 27 years old, in 1943, he married to Socorro Bella from Cabuyao, Laguna. And after they were married, they lived in the property and house which was the Bella family posession for her. Before they were married, in January 2, 1942, when Teodoro were going to be 27 years old, the Japanese army invaded Manila, and afterwards, the invaders successfully conquered Luzon and Vizayas, they even entered the town of Cabuyao. Then the Cabuyeños fought for their rights, they founded a group, which was a branch of the so called Guerillas. The Japanese soldiers begin to attack some churches in Laguna, including Cabuyao Parish Church. At the year 1944, the 28 year old Teodoro joined the organization. And he was considered as the Captain of the guards, it was a lower rank, but he did all his best to portayed his obligation. At that time his wife was pregnant to their first child. The Japanese conquerors finally attacks Cabuyao Parish Church and puts some prisoners in, including the Priests, Altar boys, Church's servants and also civilians, and also some guerillas and guards, and even children. Unfortunately, Teodoro also taken captive. When he was inside the Church, he encountered a very horifying and fearfull event of his life. Bloods sheds on the ground with its dead body. They also cuts their heads off. At that very moment, Teodoro fear so much. But fortunately, the Japanese let them escapes. And Teodoro comes back to his wife. And his wife give birth to their first child called Aida, five months before the Japanese leaves the country and the Filipino people become totally free. After that child, he had another children named Domingo, Francisco and Luisa. And Teodoro and his family lives peacefully in their home until his death on July 1, 1979 at the age of 62.
