The Chronicle, Adelaide. 15th July 1937. ..MR. G. T. RUEDIGER. The death of Mr. Gottlieb Theodore Ruediger, which occurred at his home at Spring Hut Creek, near Robertstown, on June 17, closed a long and arduous life, much of it spent in pioneering work on the stations in the outback. Mr. Ruediger was born at Rosenthal ( now Rosedale ) on March 23 1853, receiving his education there and later at Carlsruhe ( now Kunden ). He worked with his father on the home property for a number of years, later taking employment as a teamster at the Barrier. In 1878 he married Mrs. Anna Bertha Christiana Hameister, of Steelton, and took up a farm property at Robertstown, residing there for 10 years, then moving to Neale's Flat for seven years. In 1896 he moved again, this time to Killalpannina, in charge of the teams at the mission station, and for a time was head stockman. He remained there until 1912, when his wifes health forced him to leave, and he then settled at Spring Hut Creek. He left a widow and five sons, Theodore- Broken Hill, Oswald- Paulla, Otto- Balaklava, Alfred and John- Robertstown, and three daughters - Mesdames, T. Vogelsang- Point Pass, Allen - Kooringa, and J. Honeychurch- Mount Barker. There are 29 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
