She was in a relationship with Percy M Gardner Sr., and had children Roy Edwin Gardner, Verna Lucille (Gardner)Pluger, Percy M Gardner, Theresa Edgell, Joseph Gardner, Rose Schardt, Kenneth Gardner, and Nile Charlie Gardner. Theresa Suess died at age 97 years old on September 22, 1990 in Birnamwood.

    Theresa "Tressy" Gardner, age 97, Birnamwood, town of Plover, died Saturday, September 22, 1990 at her home. She was born December 27, 1892 in the town of Birnamwood, the daughter of the late Joseph and Rose (Sommer) Suess. On July 25, 1914Tressy was united in marriage to Percy Gardner in Birnamwood. He preceded her in death in 1955. Survivors include three daughters, Verna (William) Pluger, Hortonville, Theresa Edgell, Oshkosh and Rose (Harold) Schardt, town of Plover;five sons, Joseph Gardner, Eldorado Springs, MO, Roy(Mary) Gardner, Birnamwood, Kenneth (Carol) Gardner, Ripon, Percy Gardner, Aniwa and Charlie Gardner, Phlox;one sister, Bertha Bauer, Birnamwood; 36 grandchildren, 69 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, Theresa was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Geoffrey Gardner and Janine Gardner, two brothers, including Frank Suess, Sr.and one sister, Rose Eckart. Funeral services were held September 25, 1990 at Schmidt-Schulta Funeral Home, Wittenberg. The Rev. Martin Shimko officiated. Interment was in Union Cemetery, Aniwa, Wisconsin.

In 1892, in the year that Theresa Suess was born, on October 5th, the Dalton Gang was shot. The Gang was attempting to rob two banks - simultaneously - in Coffeyville Kansas but word spread of the robberies and townspeople with guns greeted them when they left the banks. Four members of the gang were killed - only Emmett Dalton survived his wounds and spent 14 years in prison.

In 1909, at the age of 17 years old, Theresa was alive when the New York Times published the first movie review. It was a report on D.W. Griffith's movie "Pippa Passes" also called "The Song of Conscience", a silent film. The review said that this work was moving away from "lurid material that attracted the wrath of censors and concerned citizens and toward more respectable ends. The movie was the story of a young female factory worker, on her day off, wandering and singing - thus changing the hearts of those around her towards good.
