My grandfather was the first person to throw a baseball over the Kennett Missouri Water Tower. He was also granted a tryout with St. Louis Cardinals, but denied moving forward due to his spouse not wanting to live in St. Louis at that time. He later worked as the Head Custodian at the Kennett Jr. High school where he was the playful janitor that put up the flag each morning, while shadow boxing with the students. He was loved by very many.
