He married Carol Ann (Zamperini) Niggel on April 10, 1970 in Butler, Butler County, Pennsylvania United States, and had children Lori Ann Niggel, Shelly Ann Niggel, and Thomas Scott Niggel. Thomas Niggel died at age 60 years old on October 19, 2004.
