He was married to Louisa Cook Eastick in 1880, and had children Robert Francis Eastick, Florence Maud Eastick, Albert Clement Eastick, Agnes Eastick, Frederick Harold Eastick, Victor Thomas Eastick, Mary Amelia Eastick, and Herbert Vivian Eastick. Thomas Eastick died at age 67 years old on April 23, 1925 in Oakleigh, City of Monash County, VIC.

In 1857, in the year that Thomas Eastick was born, on March 2nd, the largest slave auction in US history was begun. Called "The Weeping Time", the auction lasted 2 days. Slave owner Pierce M. Butler - who had inherited the slaves 20 years before but was now deeply in debt - sold 436 men, women, children, and infants, all of whom were kept in stalls at a racetrack in Savannah, Georgia. The people were held for weeks before the auction in the horse stalls.

Herman Hollerith's "tabulating machine" used punch cards to more quickly compute census information, taking the time to get census results from 8 years in 1880 to 6 years for the 1890 census.
