He married Ellen Emeny, and had children Thomas Emeny III, Sarah Emeny Scarborough, May Emeny Hughes, Fanny Emeny, Florence Emeny Densley, Vincent Emeny, William Gray Emeny, William Arthur Emeny, and Ellen "Nellie" Emeny Pearce. Thomas Emeny died at age 68 years old on February 13, 1916 in Terang, VIC Australia.
