He married Sherry (Wallen) Southers on November 21, 1967 in Gate City, Scott County, Virginia and they later divorced. He and Janice K. LeGrand married on July 17, 1993. Thomas Moffitt died at age 71 years old on January 13, 2015 in Clio, Genesee County, MI.
